ZBAM! tells the story of a community that decides to build a commune together with the audience, right in the theater.

“…If history were being written here and now, what part of yourself would you want to go down in history?…”

But reaching an agreement is not easy. Do we really want our dreams to come true? And why is it so difficult to leave the past behind?
Based entirely on real events—from song lyrics to the smallest lines—the play addresses questions such as how we can live together and how we can coexist with our differences, using dark yet celebratory humor.

We witness the stories of those who, despite everything, manage to resist and still believe in a better world...
Six women performers from Berlin dare to take on this poignant play and weave in their own stories.
Written by award-winning Istanbul-based writer Şirvan Akan, the dark comedy ZBAM! was staged for the first time in Germany at Theater Aufbau Kreuzberg in Berlin in 2020 and 2023.
