CONTROL-LED: City of Dead Kings

Theatrical Experience

Step into a world governed by control, where prohibitions shape daily life and extinction casts a shadow over existence. This live experience offers a social reflection on humanity’s ecological footprint and the influence of governmental policies, interweaving themes of art, sexuality, and consumer culture.

The narrative, based on an adaptation of a short story, follows the discovery of a walking route marked by three key points. Together, they form a map that reflects the streets of Istanbul across the paths of Greenwich. Through a careful creative process, I incorporated current news from Turkey into the story, capturing the atmosphere, demographic, character, and rhythm of a specific Istanbul street, and combined it with its counterpart in Greenwich.

"Controlled: City of Dead Kings" brings together the urban spirit of Greenwich and the layered stories of Istanbul, aiming to give participants an experience of Istanbul within the streets of Greenwich. As part of the project, I collaborated with a violin virtuoso and ArtFix Cafe.
